REDPLAID's Data Center is a world class facility located in one of North America's premier "Carrier Hotels," The Bandwidth Exchange Building, located in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Our 10,000 square foot facility includes state-of-the-art security, N+1 redundancy in electrical and environmental systems, and an on-site Network Operations Center monitored 24/7 by trained engineers.
REDPLAID's state-of-the-art Data Center building is called a "Carrier Hotel" because it also houses Points of Presence (POPs) for all of the major Internet & telecommunication carriers operating in the central United States including: Verizon (MCI/UUNet), Sprint, AT&T, Level(3), Qwest, XO Communications, Cogent, WilTel, Broadwing, Savvis, McLeodUSA, and Charter Communications among others.
In addition, our staff is responsible for managing the "Meet-Me Room" for the building, which is a private peering point between all of the network providers and carriers. This facility is directly connected to REDPLAID's data center, and allows us to utilize direct connections into each of these carriers' Internet backbone networks without any local loops or cross-connects.
These direct connections enable REDPLAID to deliver extremely fast, low-latency Internet bandwidth - which explains why more than half of our customers reside in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and South America - and why they experience exceptional Internet network performance.
