With the REDPLAID Remote Console, your PC becomes "The Console" to the server from whatever location you securely login from - no different than sitting right in front of the server. You'll get full Root or Admin access, you'll see all BIOS and console messages, you'll have the full Linux console GUI, you can remotely reboot the server, power it on or off, and your local CD-ROM drive even becomes the CD-ROM on the server to install software from.
MANAGED FIREWALL WITH WEB CONSOLE
REDPLAID provides one of the most powerful carrier-grade firewall solutions in the managed hosting industry. REDPLAID's Firewall is a fully stateful firewall with connection tracking and includes "Smart Blocking" to prevent resource depletion attacks. SENTARUS™ VULNERABILITY SCANS:
REDPLAID provides vulnerability scans & assessments against services running on our customers' servers to test them against our proprietary vulnerability database containing more than 70,000 vulnerabilities that are continually updated. This powerful vulnerability assessment searches across servers and infrastructure devices to perform distributed or event-driven probes of network services, operating systems, servers, firewalls, and application components to identify potential risks. Customers are provided the results of the vulnerability scans and can repair these vulnerabilities on your own or have REDPLAID's Security Team correct them.
TRIPWIRE™ SERVER INTEGRITY MONITORING:
REDPLAID's Tripwire™ Server Integrity Monitoring uses a sophisticated database to monitor the integrity and file attributes of important files on each server. REDPLAID's Security Team sets specific alarm criteria for unauthorized server changes and malicious user activity, and our Tripwire software establishes a "digital inventory" of known good files and their attributes - using them as a baseline to monitoring changes. When changes are identified, REDPLAID's Security Team and customer support staff are notified electronically. If the change is desirable, such as with a scheduled software patch for example, Tripwire makes it easy to verify these changes and roll them into the baseline for future monitoring. If the change is not desired, Tripwire software enables rapid restoration of files to a known good state. Controls can also be put in place to not only identify changes but to automatically restore systems when undesired changes occur.
ADVANCED SERVER HARDENING:

It absorbs attacks by filtering out malignant packets from your inbound Web traffic and simultaneously delivering purified traffic back to your server(s) so that business operations can continue even in the face of a DDoS attack. Rather than relying on signatures or prior knowledge, CleanTraffic™ uses patented technology to detect traffic anomalies and eliminates them by quarantining or blocking the attack source with pinpoint precision.
ADVANCED SERVER DATA ENCRYPTION:
REDPLAID's Advanced Data Encryption services are designed to protect the sensitive personal, financial, credit card, and proprietary data stored on your servers. This includes support for files, file systems, folders and directories on any type of electronic media, whether fixed or removable. The Encryption Algorithms supported by REDPLAID include: RIJNDAEL-256, Blowfish-448, Twofish-256, CAST-128, IDEA-128, DES-56, 3DES-168, or GOST-256, and DESX-184. QUARTERLY PENETRATION TESTING:
Penetration testing is a live test of the security defenses of your server performed by REDPLAID's Security Team. Our CISSP certified security engineers use techniques and exploits that real-life hackers use to simulate the results of an attack. This helps determine the appropriate level of network security and controls required to correct any identified vulnerabilities. This testing is often required for industry compliance with standards such as CISP (MasterCard & Visa certification), FDIC certification, HIPAA compliance, Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance and others.
MANAGED O/S UPDATES (WINDOWS, RED HAT & SuSE):
REDPLAID's engineers will provide managed O/S security patches & critical updates for all Windows platforms, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0 or 5.0 ES or SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 10. This service utilizes REDPLAID's engineers to review patches & updates prior to applying them to a customer's server in order to look for known conflicts and decrease the likelihood of a patch or update causing a problem. Updates are performed during REDPLAID's standard maintenance windows. Customers requiring customized maintenance windows can upgrade to our Complex Hosting Plan, where we provide user-definable maintenance windows.
MANAGED DATA BACKUPS WITH 50GB STORAGE SPACE:
REDPLAID provides daily data backups of our customer's servers to RAID-protected disk storage. This service includes 50 GB of data backup space per server, and can be performed without taking servers or websites down. It also provides support for Windows open files & databases.
CUSTOMER MANAGED FTP BACKUP SPACE:
REDPLAID provides RAID-protected disk space to our customers in order to perform their own FTP data backups.
